When You Need to Reset Your Day

by Sharon Hassler, Reset Your Day

And there it goes... your day, that is. It just went south. You're stuck in traffic and you're going to be late. Your boss just gave you a new project with a number-one priority. Your toddler woke up with a fever so you're not leaving the house. A client called with an urgent problem that will take the rest of the day to solve. Your friends ordered cheesecake at lunch and you abandoned your diet and joined them. That's how it goes. Your plans for the day have gone awry and now you're feeling frustration, anger, guilt, or maybe all three...

Take A Deep Breath...

This is the time to pull it back together and Reset Your Day. Use a touchstone, a word, a prayer or a quote to signal a break from the past and a step into the future. Take a few moments of quiet thought to forgive the universe for changing your vision of how this day would unfold. Forgiveness will clear out the negative emotions so you don't waste the next hours stewing in regret. You now have a new challenge; rethink your day, set new goals and get on with it!
